Our Story

At its heart, Hammers Dueling Piano Bar is a local, family-owned labor of love. Founded in 2024 by husband-and-wife duo Hannah and Brett Dowell, the bar is the culmination of decades of expertise and a deep-seated passion for the Kansas City arts scene. As independent owners, the Dowells are committed to more than just a nightly show — they're dedicated to fostering a thriving community in Midtown and supporting the talented artists who call this city home, from packed weekend shows at the bar to private events and our Traveling Dueling Piano Show on the road across Kansas City.
